Focus, Leading in photography for 107 years
Focus has been the leading Dutch magazine on photography for over a century, and has always served as a talent pool. Well-known photographers like Erwin Olaf, Carl De Keyzer, Inez van Lamsweerde and Rineke Dijkstra all started their journey to fame in Focus.
Well-known as well as unknown photographers are shown every month. For example Susanne Middelberg, Koos Breukel, Eddy van Wessel, William Rutten, Hans Aarsman, Saskia Boelsums, Bas Meelker, William Rutten, Ewa Cwikla, Maria Svarbova, Robin de Puy, Cynthia Boll, Anais Lopez, Marvel Harris to name a few who all published their work. All branches of sport are covered: journalistic photography, art-, sport-, documentary-, nature-, portraitphotography and so on.
Focus is a member of the EISA
EISA
In 1982 Focus was co-founder of the renowned Expert Imaging and Sound Association (EISA). This organisation of more than 50 International magazines grants the leading EISA Awards on a yearly basis. These awards are considered to be the Oscars of the worldwide consumer electronics industry. In the capacity of Photo Panel Manager, Focus is the most prominent player in the field of photography. eisa.eu
Jan Paul Mioulet
Jan Paul has been an independent photographer since 1994. He has dealt with many forms of photography, from portrait to sports, from wedding photography to advertising work . He has been specialized in architectural photography for almost fifteen years. He is one of the founders of DAPh, the Dutch Architectural Photographers, a collective of some of the best Dutch architecture photographers. From 2010 to 2014 he was editor-in-chief of PF, Professional Photography, the magazine for the Dutch and Flemish professional photographer. In addition to his photography, he also writes for PF and CameraStuffReview about technology and all sorts of special facts about photography and cameras.
Mich Buschman:
Mich is a professional photographer, teacher and test editor at Focus Magazine for many years. His specialism is portrait photography, but he also masters the other branches of photography as the best. His technical knowledge is enormous and despite the fact that he has been testing cameras and lenses for a long time, his enthusiasm is unabated. He still writes for Focus Magazine and also for CameraStuffReview.
Erik Derycke:
Erik is chief technical editor for Focus Magazine. From that capacity he is panel manager of the Expert Group Photo within the EISA.
Previously Erik was editor-in-chief of the Belgian photo magazine Shoot. Erik’s knowledge of technology is great and he keeps an overview of all cameras and lenses that come on the market at all times.
Ivo Freriks:
With CameraStuffReview I hope to make a modest contribution to the pleasure that you experience in photography. By comparing cameras and lenses in the same way and each time by listing the pros and cons, I hope to help you find the right camera or lens.
Roos Schouw
Roos has been working at Focus Magazine’s editorial office since 1998. Making magazines and books about photography is in her blood. In 2018 she took over the publishing house from her then boss. As publisher and editor-in-chief, she hopes to enthuse others about photography in all its forms for a long time to be.
